The cabins are outfitted with heating and air conditioning. If primitive camping isn't for you, there are 16 cabins, including 4 deluxe cabins. A four-mile trail system winds through steep slopes and scenic overviews, with sandstone ledges towering 100 feet above the Des Moines River. There are 125 primitive camping sites located in two campgrounds both equipped with modern rest room facilities. Ledges State Park is one of Iowa’s most historic and unique nature destinations, especially for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. Most of these structures have been restored and the effort continues. The trails are 8’ to 10’ wide in most areas and are popular with equestrian riders. Named for the narrow and steep ridge of bedrock carved by the river, the 'Devils B.
